DANIEL SALEH – Award-winning AESTHETIC SURGERY
Deep Plane Face / Neck Lifts
As an internationally trained facial aesthetic surgeon, Daniel Saleh specialises in advanced facelifting techniques. Our focus on ‘deep plane’ neck and face lifts is designed to deliver natural and long-lasting rejuvenation without a ‘pulled’ or over-tightened appearance.
What Does a ‘Deep Plane’ Face Lift Mean?
A ‘deep plane’ facelift is an advanced surgical technique that lifts and repositions the deeper supporting structures of the face and neck.
The purpose of a ‘deep plane’ face lift is to allow for more comprehensive rejuvenation of the facial structure while preserving natural facial movement and avoiding an overly tightened appearance.
Understanding the Deep Plane Technique
What is the SMAS?
The SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) is a supportive layer of tissue beneath the skin. It plays a key role in facial structure and movement. Many patients have heard of the SMAS, here are some points about the SMAS, and our fascination with it as facelift surgeons …
SMAS = SUB MUSCULAR APONEUROTIC SYSTEM
This flexible sheet of tissue sits under the skin, and modifying its position is key to a facelift.
The deep plane technique involves GOING UNDER (‘deep’) to the SMAS from its underlying attachments to move it and the skin above it for a natural look.
The SMAS is continuous with the Platysma muscle in the neck – which causes the bands and loose skin we see, which is also lifted as we are under the muscle.
How the Deep Plane Technique Works
Using the deep plane technique, we lift and reposition the underlying SMAS and connective tissues of the face and neck in a single, smooth plane delivering long-lasting, natural contours without the “stretched” look.
DEEP NECK REDUCTION
Following this, the Deep Neck reduction typically adds to the deep plane lift by sculpting the deep structures of the neck for that extra level of longevity and youthful restoration.

EYELIDS AND BROWS
Refresh your gaze with upper and lower blepharoplasty – performed either through the skin or via scarless (‘transconjunctival’) lower blepharoplasty, combined with tailored brow lifts. These scar-minimising techniques remove hooding and hollows for a more awakened appearance.
SKIN CANCER & FACIAL RECONSTRUCTION
Post–skin cancer excision, we restore form and function using local flaps, full-thickness grafts, or Mohs reconstruction, prioritising both aesthetic outcomes and oncologic safety.
